2. The Second Continental Congress
a. Patriots sent a Olive Branch Petitionto King George b. To repeal Intolerable Acts c. King refused to repeal laws d. Second Continetal Congress decided to form a colonial army e. Congress asked all colonies to send soldiers to Massachutes f. Chose George Washington of Virginia to lead new contenetial army g. Chose Washington over Artemas Ward, Charles Lee, and John Hancock h. c. Battle of Bunker Hill took place in Boston on June 17, 1775
d. The Battle of Bunker Hill was one of the fiersest battles of the whole war
e. George Washington arrived to meet his army less than 3 weeks after the battle f. 14,500 soldiers from the northern colonies wore no uniforms g. Many soldiers had no guns just spears and axes h. Some soldiers fought on the frontier i. Soldiers learned to fight the way the Native Americans did j. Washington's soldiers never accually ever fought in a war k.
